Well, short answer. Itโs anything you want it to be. ๐
At any point when you are wanting to celebrate your child or children with a photo session, that is considered a milestone session. While I might have collections designed for the first year of life, that is because when bundled together, the first year is typically the most photographed for a child.
If you are wanting a studio session, celebrate your child at any time that is a milestone session.
Child milestone photographers capture all of the special moments in your child's life - from the big, like first steps and birthdays, to the small, like a gummy smile or a messy tablespoon of food. And there is no milestone too small to capture because each one is a reminder of just how quickly your little one is growing up. What do I provide in my studio milestone sessions... EVERYTHING NEEDED unless you are bringing some special just to you.
ATTIRE
We will discuss this in advance, but all my clients have access to my client closet and my custom styling service. Custom styling is particularly important if we are doing something a little more โthemedโ and we want to ensure every detail, down to your child's socks or hairbow is PERFECTION.
If you have a special outfit you want to bring from home, of course, that is NEVER a problem.
How Long will the shoot last?
A single child or maybe a brother-sister duo like the session featured below, I would say 60-90 minutes. If you have ever worked with me, you know I love to talk and especially love to talk to your kids. I want them to feel at home with me, I want them to want to smile, I want them to want to be in front of the camera. So that means I let them lead, if they need a break we take a break, if they need a dance party, we have a dance party. Simple as that.
More kids will mean a little more time is needed, and that is perfectly fine. This is another thing that we will discuss specific to your kids when you are booking your session.
What do I need to do during the milestone session?
All I need from you is patience. Let me work, and honestly let me be in charge. If you think your kids are miss behaving, allow me to pull them back. You know the saying โtoo many cooks in the kitchen.โ The same concept applies here. Too much direction and too much stimulation is very difficult for children.
If I need you to console a child, hold a crying baby, or even discipline an older child I will let you know.
